Our Philosophy

TM Landry provides the foundation upon which our college preparatory curriculum builds. Beginning in Kindergarten and continuing throughout the lower school experience, our students are immersed in a nurturing learning environment that values individual differences and supports varied learning styles.

Our students are given every opportunity to develop the good character, strong work ethic, and love of learning that will not only help them throughout their academic careers, but will also serve them well as they grow into strong and responsible members of our community.

Kindergarten through fifth grade uses a combination of self-discovery and guided practice in an enriched academic instructional program of language arts, math, science and social studies. Our curriculum goes well beyond state and national standards to ensure that all students are being challenged and that they are given the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. We have high expectations for our students, and in return, they learn to set high standards for themselves as well.

TM Landry kindergartners are nurtured and given confidence in a self-contained environment. The enhanced project-based curriculum uses a hands-on approach with an emphasis on reading and literacy. Students promoted from TM Landry’s kindergarten to the first grade generally read well above grade level.

The Lower School curriculum is taught by a faculty who has the experience and educational background to provide a solid foundation for future college preparatory experiences. All TM Landry students benefit from superior language arts, math, science and social studies programs which are designed to enrich their senses and heighten their intellect. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, students can achieve more quickly through individualized instruction.
